Year In Review: University Libraries Endowments

This past year saw the establishment of several major endowments to support the work of UNLV students, faculty, and staff through the UNLV University Libraries. The largest gift, the $5 million Beverly Rogers Rare Book Curator Endowment, will establish the first named curator position in the University Libraries, while also enhancing the rare books collection in Special Collections and Archives.

Supernatural Encounters From Around The Globe

Join Dr. Sheila Bock (Department of Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies), Student Diversity and Social Justice, and the University Libraries on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Goldfield Room at Lied Library. This hauntingly fun event will give visitors the opportunity to learn about the significance of Halloween and its connection to the supernatural.

Makerspace, Multimedia Production Studios Open in Lied Library

Forget laptops and scientific calculators.

Starting this fall, UNLV students and faculty in any discipline will now have unprecedented access to 3D-printers, laser cutters, and podcasting and video recording studios as part of the Lied Library’s new Makerspace and Multimedia Production Studios. The new creative space is located on the library’s first floor.

Transfer Student Mixer Aug. 28

New and returning UNLV transfer students are invited to join the University Libraries for a Transfer Student Mixer on Wednesday, August 28 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in the Goldfield Room at Lied Library.

Drop-in anytime during the event, meet other transfer students, and mix and mingle with library faculty, staff, and other campus experts.
