Lied Library offers a variety of technology items for lending to UNLV affiliates. For for more information and to borrow items, visit the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor of Lied Library.

Before you borrow

Fill out the technology and laptop user agreement form.

4 hour loan

Dell Latitude E5550 laptop with added accessibility software.

Tablet with a 7-inch screen, able to magnify videos up to 24 times. Buttons to assist with settings located at either sides of tablet.

Handheld video magnifier

72 hour loan

Portable video magnifier up to 24x magnification.

Foldable camera with cord that connects to computers. Able to capture images of texts and read them aloud instantaneously.

Portable Reading Camera

4 hour loan

Freedom Scientific Pearl

Motion sensor device able to recite printed material after picture is captured.

Large scrolling ball placed in the center of the mouse. Mouse connects through bluetooth.

Wireless trackball mouse

4 hour loan

Large trackball and scroll wheel mouse, connected via bluetooth.

Video magnifier able to fold like a laptop. Provides a display of images with settings of magnification and high-contrast color modes.

Topaz PHD portable video magnifier

24 hour loan

Read and view images with magnification, high-contrast colors, and auto focus.


Assistive Technology Pod

The Assistive Technology Pod has computer workstations with specialized software and hardware along with other assistive technology devices. All 5 workstations have one-touch, powered adjustable-height desks.

You can find the pod on the 1st floor of Lied Library, right next to the Computer Help Desk.

Terms of use

  • You will return the equipment and all of its accessories, pieces, and parts safely to the Lied Library Circulation Service Desk by the correct due date/time.
  • You assume full responsibility for the equipment during the loan term, including any damage, loss, or theft, and agree to pay all appropriate replacement and/or repair expenses due to negligence.
  • You are responsible for setting up and operating the equipment and understand that the University Libraries does not provide technical support.
  • You will pay all late fees associated with returning the equipment after the given due date/time.
